The Reserve at Lake Keowee Raises Over $3,700 for the Foothills Humane Society

GREENVILLE, SC - June 22, 2009 - The 2ndAnnual Memorial Day Concert and Wine Auction at The Reserve at Lake Keowee took place on Friday, May 22 and raised over $3,300.  One hundred people attended and bid on 29 bottles of wine, which were auctioned off by residents Don Kelly and Robert Clement. The event was sponsored by The Reserve at Lake Keowee Community Foundation and organized by the community Outreach Committee.

On Sunday, May 24th, the 3rd Annual Pooches on Parade event collected shelter supplies and raised over $400 for the Foothills Humane Society.  Fourteendogs and more than 30 people participated in the parade around Turkey Ridge Park.  Dogs were judged in seven categories, with the largest prize going to the winner of Best Costume.  This year, Amelia, a blonde Labrador retriever owned by John and Nancy Howard, won for her turquoise bathing suit and pink bow.

"Both events benefit a very worthy cause.  Adults enjoy the beach music and wine auction and children love the Pooch Parade.  It is great to be a part of a community that does so much to give back," said Tina Propper, a property owner who helped coordinate the events.
