The Cascades Verdae Holds Grand Opening Celebration and Health Services Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
|
GREENVILLE, S.C. -
Health Services is the newest area of The Cascades Verdae to open and it consists of three primary areas: Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Memory Care. Cascades executives say that the Health Services opening completes the range of alternatives now available for seniors at The Cascades Verdae. Executive Director of the Cascades, Chris Rio, says, "The cottages and apartments for Independent Living, coupled with our Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Memory Care options offer our seniors a chance to enjoy life to the fullest, knowing their needs have been anticipated and that they will be taken care of." "The breadth of services available and the physical design of our facility is beyond anything offered in the Southeast," said Melanie Coates, Director of Health Services at the Cascades. The Cascades' Assisted Living area has 48 beds which are divided into four "neighborhoods" with twelve beds each. The neighborhoods are laid out so that they form a square with gardens and patio areas in the center of the layout, easily accessible from any of the areas. Each neighborhood has a common living, dining and kitchen area. 24 hour care is available for medication, bathing, dressing, eating and other such daily tasks as needed by the member. The Cascades Skilled Nursing area has 44 beds and is comprised of two "neighborhoods" with 22 beds each. 22 of the Skilled Nursing beds are public beds. Like the Assisted Living area, each of the neighborhoods has a common living, dining and kitchen area and has access to gardens and patios. The Cascades Memory Care area has two neighborhoods. Each neighborhood has 12 beds for a total of 24 beds. Each room has a "memory box" outside the member's suite. The memory box holds memorabilia to help the member identify their own room rather than a number on the door. For safety purposes, there is only one entrance-exit to the Memory Care area. All garden and patio areas are enclosed and have patterned walkways so that Memory Care members can stroll outdoors while still safe in the designated area. The Health Services wing contains a rehab gym for physical and occupational therapy as well as exercise, a spa tub for treatment of physical needs and a salon. Meals for the Health Services wing are prepared in the Clubhouse kitchen and brought to the members in Health Services. Members in Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing and Memory Care have scheduled group access to the spa, pool and exercise rooms in the main Clubhouse. ABOUT THE C
